Margaret Marie pretended not to be hungry when there wasn't enough to go around. Margaret Marie is a hero. Her middle son, Rick, the Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times journalist, makes this clear.
Sounds like a Great Depression story, doesn't it? But Margaret Marie did her hard work in the Sixties.
