So where was Dubya on the Fourth of July?
Not in the nation's capital, leading the celebrations at the Washington Monument.
Not in Boston, rocking out to the Boston Pops and thrilling to the booms of the cannons in the 1812 Overture.
Nope, he was preaching to the choir in Charleston, West Virginia, the state with the highest percentage of (1) citizens serving in Iraq, and (2) veterans of all USA wars. He was safely tucked away, dithering on about "America's might" to citizens who want desperately to believe that supporting Bush = supporting our troops. And he did it where nobody could get AT him--way offstage--and he couldn't embarrass himself or his handlers very much.
I think they're sweating bullets, those guys, don't you?
